What is mop head making machine, and how does it work?

Main Components of mop head making machine

Mop Head Machine

01

Frame and Control System:

The overall support structure, typically controlled by a PLC or a micro controller to achieve automated operation.

02

Feeding Mechanism:

Fiber Embedding Mechanism (Core Component).

03

Drive System:

Usually powered by a motor (servo motor or stepper motor), converting rotational motion into precise up-and-down reciprocating motion of the fiber embedding needle through mechanical structures such as cams and linkages.

How does mop head making machine work?

Step 1: Preparation and Feeding

The operator loads rolled fiber material onto the feeding rack, then put the blank mop head base manually on the tufting station

Step 2: Fiber Picking

The implantation needle descends, its hook precisely picking up a bundle of fiber material of a predetermined length from the feeding mechanism.

Step 3: Penetration and Implantation

This is the most crucial step, requiring extremely high strength and precision.

Step 4: Forming the Hair Tub

After the implantation needle penetrates the base, there is a "needle retraction" or "release" action. Due to the design of the needle tip (such as using a curved needle, slider disengagement mechanism, etc.), the fiber bundle is left in the base, while the implantation needle retracts without load.

The retained fiber bundle is folded in half to form a "U"-shaped or ring-shaped hair tub, firmly wedged into the hole in the base.

Step 5: Relocation and Circulation

After implanting one cluster, the base will precisely move to a position under program control, preparing for the next cluster.

Repeat steps two through five until the entire base is covered with fiber bundles according to the preset pattern, and a complete mop head is produced.

High Efficiency: Hundreds or even thousands of tufts can be implanted per minute, far exceeding manual labor.

High Quality: Uniform tuft density, neat and aesthetically pleasing appearance, and strong grip.

Good Consistency: Automated production ensures consistent quality for each product.

Labor Savings: Significantly reduces reliance on skilled workers.

Summary

The mop head machine is a key piece of equipment in modern cleaning tool manufacturing. Using the principle of a mechanical bionic hand, it "sews" individual fiber bundles into the base like sewing, achieving full automation, large-scale production, and standardization of mop head manufacturing. The seemingly ordinary mop in your hand may very well have been "planted" by such a high-speed machine in just a few seconds.
