During the Dragon Boat Festival, people participate in activities such as dragon boat racing, eating zongzi (a type of rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo leaves), and hanging calamus and other fragrant herbs to ward off evil spirits. The holiday is also considered a time for family reunions and paying respects to ancestors.
